NEW POCKET OF OPEN SPACE IN IVANHOE

Ivanhoe will get a new pocket park as part of the Victorian Government’s $154 million investment in greening our growing suburbs.

Member for Ivanhoe Anthony Carbines said the Waterdale Road Pocket Park would be established by mid 2022 with $1.3 million funding under the Suburban Parks Program.

Environment Minister Lily D’Ambrosio today announced the pocket park as one of the successful first-round projects that will give families much needed green space for recreation, relaxation and spending time with their pets.

$4.4M FOR MACLEOD COLLEGE UPGRADE

Member for Ivanhoe Anthony Carbines today announced Macleod College will share in $388.8 million for 57 upgrade and modernisation projects at schools across Victoria. This includes all school upgrades the Labor Government committed to at the 2018 election.
In addition to the $492,900 received in the 2019-20 State Budget, the Government is providing $4.44 million to construct a new science building, primary school play areas and entry landscaping. The funding will also contribute to the demolition of Block A and part of Block B. This project is part of the Victorian Government's Building Works package, which will deliver $2.7 billion in shovel-ready projects – big and small – to get thousands of people back to work across our state.

NORTH EAST LINK INVESTS IN LOCAL SPORTS AT FORD PARK

Ford Park in Ivanhoe is set to receive a massive overhaul as part of an Andrews  Government’s $68 million sports funding package, as construction on the North East Link continues to ramp up. The new and upgraded sports facilities to be built at Ford Park, will keep local clubs playing and thriving during the construction and operation of the North East Link.

Member for Ivanhoe Anthony Carbines said Ford Park will receive impressive upgrades that will benefit thousands of local players during the construction and operation of North East Link.

The upgrades to Ford Park include overhauling the existing southern oval, a new and improved sports field and lighting, a new boundary fence, time-keepers box and electronic scoreboard, behind goal netting and shelters for players and officials.

NEW SAFE CROSSING FOR PEDESTRIANS IN IVANHOE

Member for Ivanhoe Anthony Carbines today announced that works had begun on a $700,000 project to install new pedestrian operated signals on Livingstone Street, between Dudley Street and Wallace Street.
The new signals will provide a safer crossing for pedestrians and deliver a more integrated bicycle network by connecting riders with the existing cycling trail along Donaldson Creek.
