Member for Ivanhoe, Anthony Carbines today announced Ivanhoe Primary School will receive $4.5 million in the 2018/19 State Budget to upgrade and modernise facilities.
The funds will progress the delivery of the school’s masterplan, including replacing four relocatable buildings with fit-for-purpose new permanent buildings addressing under-entitlement in permanent spaces.
Works will also include a complete reconfiguration of the main classroom and administration building.
This funding is in addition to the $2 million provided in the 2016/17 State Budget.
The Labor Government is building the Education State so every Victorian student can receive a great education and every community has access to a great local school.
This includes more than $2.8 billion invested to improve classrooms, upgrade facilities and build new schools across the state.
This school building boom has delivered more than 1,200 school upgrades and 64 new school projects across the state, supporting more than 5,000 construction jobs for Victorians.
This contrasts with the Liberals and Nationals who let schools crumble and decay, while slashing $1 billion from the education budget.
