Let the Sun Shine In – Cutting Power Bills with Solar Power and Hot Water

Member for Ivanhoe and Parliamentary Secretary for Energy, Environment & Climate Change, Anthony Carbines welcomed the recent State Government announcement of the new Solar Homes program.
Under the $1.24 billion program, Victorians will be able to install a solar panel system for half price and pay the rest of the cost back over four years with an interest-free loan.
Victorians households who haven’t installed half price solar panels under the program, can replace their old hot water system with a new solar system and get $1,000 back off the cost via a rebate

Suburban Rail Loop Set to Transform the Ivanhoe Electorate

A re-elected Andrews Government will embark upon the biggest transformation of public transport in Australia’s history, with a new underground rail network set to circle Melbourne’s suburbs and connect every major train line from the Frankston line to the Werribee line through Melbourne Airport.

The Suburban Rail Loop will deliver major benefits for people living and working in the Ivanhoe electorate by reducing congestion across the transport network, taking passengers off existing rail lines, taking 200,000 cars off our major roads and creating 20,000 jobs during construction.

PREVENTING CRIME AND SUPPORTING A SAFER COMMUNITY

The Banyule community will benefit from funding for safety improvements to facilities as part of the latest round of Community Safety Fund (CSF) grants, funded by the State Government.

Member for Ivanhoe, Anthony Carbines welcomed the funding for two projects:

$10,000 for Macleod Village Traders for installation of three pieces of exercise equipment at Macleod Park to help activate the space and prevent crime.
$4,500.00 for installation of an alarm system at the Yarra Valley Hockey Club to help prevent break-ins and vandalism.

ROSANNA CELEBRATES STATION OPENING AND EXTRA TRAIN SERVICES

Over 1,000 locals attended last Saturday’s community celebration to officially open the new Rosanna Railway Station.

Thanks to this project, commuters will benefit from 50 extra weekday services, when the new timetable kicks off on August 26.

Member for Ivanhoe Anthony Carbines joined Wurundjeri Tribe Elder Bill Nicholson and project Manager Steve Brown to unveil a plaque at the station to mark its opening.

A free community celebration at Rosanna Station was held to thank the local community for their support and patience during the recent works to rebuild the station and remove the level crossing at Lower Plenty Road.

$900,000 for Rosanna Road Safety Cameras

Pedestrians and local residents will be safer with four speed and red light cameras to be installed on Rosanna Road by the end of the year, funded by the Andrews Labor Government.

State Member for Ivanhoe Anthony Carbines today announced contracts worth about $900,000 for the new cameras had been signed with Sensys Gatso Australia.

The two intersections along Rosanna Road at Banyule Road and Darebin Street were selected following a strong local campaign, to make the area safer for children, parents and staff at the nearby Banyule and Heidelberg primary schools and the Goodstart Childcare Centre.

EXTRA TRAIN SERVICES ON THE HURSTBRIDGE LINE

Passengers on the Hurstbridge line will get up to 50 extra services per week when the new metropolitan train timetable starts on Sunday 26 August 2018.

State Member for Ivanhoe, Anthony Carbines, today confirmed that thanks to the $395 million Hurstbridge Line upgrade new and extended services for Eltham, Macleod, Greensborough and Hurstbridge passengers will begin later this month to boost capacity and give more travel options.

The extended services will mean an extra morning service for Greensborough passengers on weekdays and a total of 50 extra weekday train services for passengers at Macleod.
