Families in Ivanhoe and Bellfield will be able to rely on great local sporting facilities, with a re-elected Andrews Labor Government to deliver $2 million towards Ford Park.

Rapid growth at Ford Park’s sporting clubs is putting immense pressure on the facilities.

This funding will go towards upgrading the playing surface, lighting, building new change rooms for players and umpires, pavilion, scoreboards and coaches boxes and an upgrade to the cricket facilities. The upgraded Ford Park will be used by local sporting clubs, with the Ivanhoe Junior Football Club, Bellfield Cricket Club and local families all set to benefit.

With these upgrades from a re-elected Labor Government, local clubs — and this local community — will have the great sporting facilities they deserve.

The commitment builds on the Andrews Labor Government’s investments in local and community sport including upgrades to Ivanhoe Park, Olympic Park, Cyril Cummins Reserve and De Winton Park.

While the Liberals cut funding for hospitals and schools, and closed TAFE campuses — only Labor will invest in the projects our community really needs.

The Labor Government has made the biggest investment in grassroots sporting opportunities in Victoria’s history, with $420 million dedicated to community sports.
