An Andrews Labor Government will invest up to $1.5 million to upgrade nine classrooms and art rooms at St Martin of Tours Primary School in Rosanna.

Deputy Leader of the Opposition and Shadow Minister for Education, James Merlino, joined Labor Member for Ivanhoe, Anthony Carbines, at St Martin of Tours today to announce the plan.
More than 38 per cent of Victorian students attend non-Government schools. The Liberal Government’s spending on school buildings has been cut by half over the past four years.
Last month, Labor announced a $1.3 billion plan to fix our schools, rescue the TAFE system, bring back Tech Schools and help struggling parents with the costs of uniforms, breakfasts, camps, sport and excursions.

Quotes attributable to Mr Merlino
“Catholic and Independent schools are a vital part of our education system, and modern facilities are so important for the future of our kids.”
“Low-fee Catholic and Independent schools have gone backwards under the Liberals. Denis Napthine’s cuts have hurt every student and every family.”
Quotes attributable to Mr Carbines

“St Martin’s is a popular local school and Labor’s plan will help the school do so much more.”

“Every child deserves state of the art classrooms and a great education.”
