Labor Government helping three clubs in Ivanhoe reach for the skies

  • by

Local State Member, Anthony Carbines has announced Heidelberg United Soccer Club, Ivanhoe Knights Basketball Club and Yarra Valley Hockey Club are three of more than 300 clubs across the state sharing in more than $419,000 funding from the Labor Government’s Sporting Club Grants Program.

The Andrews Labor Government is giving these clubs the tools and resources they need to grow.

Anthony announced Heidelberg United Soccer Club and Ivanhoe Knights Basketball Club have both been awarded $1,000 grants for uniforms.  Yarra Valley Hockey Club has been awarded $990 for equipment.  This means more opportunities for players, coaches and volunteers.

The Labor Government is helping community clubs provide an environment where families connect, kids strive to be the best they can be and beginners become stars.

The Labor Government is committed to making community sport part of the lives of all Victorians, and the Sporting Club Grants Program does just that. Sporting clubs are the lifeblood of our suburbs and towns, where kids learn valuable life lessons and enjoy great moments.

Victoria is the sporting state, and the Labor Government wants us to stay that way. The Sporting Club Grants Program is just one of the Government’s initiatives that keeps kids happy and healthy, communities active and local clubs strong.
