Premier Presents Sustainability Award to Rosanna Golf Links Primary School

Premier Daniel Andrews has presented a 5 Star Sustainability Certification award to Rosanna Golf Links Primary School as part of the ResourceSmart Schools program.

ResouceSmart Schools engage students in sustainability initiatives by making it a part of everyday school life to take action on climate change.

Rosanna Golf Links PS have worked tirelessly to achieve their sustainability initiatives since becoming a ResourceSmart school in 2008, beginning with one waste stream and now utilising a successful three-bin system throughout their school.

Between 2008 and 2016, the school saved $48,000 on electricity and kept 761m3 of waste from going to landfill through whole of school initiatives.

Every second year the school holds the Sustainable Living Festival with proceeds going to an environmental cause, leading the way through community and mentoring work.

Produce from the schools vegetable garden is sold at the local market with its proceeds being put back into school sustainability initiatives.

The Andrews Labor Government is proud to support the work of ResourceSmart schools like Rosanna Golf Links Primary School to ensure our future environment is in good hands for the next generation.
