More young Victorians will get the chance to develop their leadership skills and give back to their local community with a re-elected Andrews Labor Government to help upgrade the First Ivanhoe Sea Scout Hall.
The whole community will benefit with Scouts Victoria to manage and maintain the hall, which will also be available for local activities and events such as dance classes, community theatre rehearsals, birthday parties and fitness classes.
Labor will provide $100,000 towards building upgrades that will make the hall more accessible to all scouts including a new driveway and new external doors.
More than a million young Victorians have participated in Scouts since 1907, with a growing membership.
These organisations are the heartbeat of our communities, giving young people the opportunity to get outdoors, have fun and develop resilience and teamwork skills.
Only Labor will build and upgrade community halls around the state to make sure local Scout Groups have the facilities they need for generations to come.
