Anthony was elected State Member for Ivanhoe in November 2010. Following re-election in 2014 he was appointed Parliamentary Secretary for Water and Parliamentary Secretary for Energy, Environment & Climate Change in the Andrews Government.
After the 2018 election Anthony was appointed Parliamentary Secretary for Health.
Prior to entering parliament, Anthony worked at the Victorian School of Languages and was a councillor at the City of Banyule. For almost a decade, he served as an adviser and chief-of-staff to Ministers in the Bracks and Brumby state governments. He began his working life as a journalist at the Geelong Advertiser.
Anthony was born and raised in Melbourne’s northern suburbs and holds a Bachelor of Journalism degree from RMIT University.
He and wife Anita live in the Ivanhoe electorate with their daughter, Ava. Anthony is a member of the Geelong Football Club and enjoys running and golf.
